About the shop:
My name is Nadine ter Brugge. I am located in the netherlands. I work as a nurse in elderly care, and own this small business besides that. I run the entire shop, including customer service, web editing, marketing, advertisements etc. All by myself. I have years of experience in growing rare indoor plants.
Service:
Before i prepare the plants for shipping, the soil is sterilised to prevent the development of mold or harmful pests. The plants themselves are treated out of prevention with a non toxic pesticide so i can guarantee that there are no harmful pest infestations on the plants. Every once in a while i apply predatory mites in my nursery stock, to be extra sure. So if you see a small, white or red bug with rapid movement please do not be alarmed.
To prepare them for transport I wrap the pots in transparent foil as close to the stem as possible. By doing this i make sure most of the moisture can't evaporate from the plants growing medium. After that i wrap the entire plant in bubble wrap. Its similair to the environment of a closed terrarium, with its own ecosystem going on.
It's also good to know, that when plants don't receive any light they also don't use a lot of water.
I always ship the plants with the expectation that they might be in transport for 4 weeks. That's why i use so many materials out of precaution.
In conclusion: I do everything in my control to make sure the plants have a realistic chance of survival until delivery takes place.
